Our Trip Across The Pond (pt. 2)
I told you I would update soon and keep you informed about our crazy trip.
On with the story...
Fast forward to the next day (5/27/15). We got our free breakfast, free lunch and got to our gate to make sure everything was going to go smoothly this time. Boarding finally happens! We get in our seats and get comfy for the 7 hour flight. Our flight was supposed to depart at 2:40pm. So 3:00 passes, 3:30 passes, 4:00 passes and we are still just sitting on the plane. We hadn't moved. The pilots finally explained that they legally had to pull peoples luggage from last night off the plane because they had taken a different flight. Around 5:00 pm; after a nap, some snacks, and a TV show or two, we finally took off. Did I sleep a wink during that 7 hour flight? About an hour while we were sitting on the tarmac. So as I am writing this I'm going on 15+ hours of no sleep. (I wrote this on the 28th-just fyi) Maybe shouldn't have had two Starbucks refreshers before we boarded the long flight. We arrive in Frankfurt finally, but our connecting flight is supposed to leave at 8:00am-which was meant to be enough time. But because of the mishap with the luggage and the time delay the flight we were on was delayed until 7:00am and we needed to get to a completely different terminal. My Dad was speed walking, which means my sisters and I were running just to keep up. We made it to the correct gate as everyone was boarding and we still needed to have new boarding passes issued. This is where my aggressive side reared its head. As we were getting our tickets a man kept trying to cut in front of us. He actively was cutting in front of 5 additional people behind us who were in the exact same position he was in (his ticket wouldn't scan). When the officer told him to move, he had an attitude and said, "well, I was in line." That's when I stepped in. I turned and pointed to the rest of the people behind us and said, "So are they." He did not appreciate that. This man kept trying to jump in front of the others and interrupt each so finally the attendant helped him instead of the people waiting behind us. I don't know if that is what I would have done, it is kind of like rewarding a child for bad behavior You're not supposed to do it, but it might help the sanity of the other children. And off we started on the last leg of the journey and luckily everything went great. We landed in Poland and met the precious little bundle that is our little brother. All of the crazy chaos, all of the time delays and through all of the confusion it was so worth it when each of us girls got to hold our very new baby brother.
