8 Things To Do Inside During Crazy Heat This Summer
Hello!
So I'm sitting here in our basement waiting for the clothes to dry, watching 'New Girl' and have been wondering about what else I can do to escape the boredom of inside since it is 98 degrees outside and the humidity makes it feel like 120 degrees. The poor pups haven't been for a walk in a few days because I'm scared they will get overheated. This brings me to a standstill. What are some activities that can be done inside?
After thinking about it, here is a list of things that I have found to either be productive, fun or both when the weather is so dang hot you just have to stay inside.

- Go through your closet and donate or sell anything that you haven't worn in six months. 'Out with the old and in with the new!' Plato's Closet is a good place to go to sell some of your lightly used clothing, and they have a great selection of clothes to buy as well. And, of course, Goodwill is always accepting clothes that you don't need or want.
- Rearrange furniture to change the layout of the room.
- Get lost in a good book. This summer I have found the author, Beatriz Williams, and she has some amazingly written books! Look her up!
- Test some new recipes off of Pinterest. My new favorite trial recipe is the One Pot Cilantro-Lime Chicken and Rice. SO YUMMY. Click Here for the recipe I use!
- Have a self spa day complete with exfoliating, moisturizing, manicure, pedicure, facial, etc.
- Paint, draw, write and/or let yourself be creative. If you need inspiration for drawing or painting, I look online at art I would like to have in my house on Pinterest or on Hobby Lobby's website and try to replicate it. I like doing that because then I can change it or tweak it to match my color scheme. Now, with writing, I usually just carry a notebook around with me because inspiration and ideas comes to me at random times.
- Clean out your car. And I mean actually clean it out; vacuum, dust, clean windows, throw trash out, wash the outside, wash the tires, etc. I know I have to do this every so often! I spend so much time in my car it seems like I have half my wardrobe, a bunch of snack trash, a crazy amount of dog hair, and lots of pens next to half scribbled notes to myself. The beauty of these things can be done while the AC is on! :)
- And if all else fails, surf Etsy, Pinterest and Amazon for deals. Shopping from your own couch, what could be better? :)
Here are just a few of the ideas I've come up with while trying to survive this weird heatwave. Oh gosh, I just realized-it's going to get a lot hotter this summer isn't it? It's only the 3rd week in June! Further on this summer, I'll give you more ideas on how to deal with the summer July heat!
